Hello there, old friend! It’s been awhile. Much has changed since my last post and I don’t have much time until munchkin’s next feeding so I’ll get right to it… and nothing gets you up to speed faster than photos. Here goes:
November: We attended the holiday festival of lights on James Island and celebrated Thanksgiving at home. While we missed the extended family, it was awesome to be able to start some traditions in our own little family.
December: We had a visit from my mother and grandmother who were so awesome and helped us pack while also celebrating an early Christmas with us. M had a school play where she sang Jingle Bells and a version of “I’m a Little Teapot” but based on a snowman who melts. We also made LOTS of various crafts. Had to keep those munchkins busy in order to pack boxes!!
January: The big move! We moved into our new house, M turned 3 (how did that happen?!), we survived an ice storm (in the South… what?!), we started music classes again, S learned how to roll over, we attended the annual LowCountry Oyster Festival, and of course went puddle jumping every time it rained! We also finally got around to building M’s “bigger” girl bed (i.e. a queen-sized bed) so she’s been loving having the room to spread out.
I’m just realizing how green the bedspread looks from this photo… it’s much more pink/fuchsia in person. Not that you care… just saying. 🙂
February: So far it’s been lots of play dates, music classes, Little Gym classes and getting back into the routine. There’s been a lot of change in the last few months so we’re trying to slowly get back into the rhythm of life.
Sydney hasn’t started solids yet but likes to gnaw on things like watermelon!
The weather went from horrid to gorgeous, back to horrid and finally we’ve been having a few days of 70-something weather. That equates to LOTS of time at the park!
So are fairy-princess birthday parties!
And helping Daddy with maintenance on his boat.
Some videos to top everything off:
I love how little miss comes in at the end to ask “you know me right?” Cracks me up.
Here is S sitting up unassisted, partaking in some post-bath chit-chat with herself on my phone
And this video makes my heart hurt as much as it makes me giggle (but only because Super G wasn’t hurt because otherwise that would just be mean)… it’s one of those moments where you see it happening and just can’t stop it in time.
That’s the latest and greatest in the Merryfew house. Oh, and we’ve decided to give homeschooling a try starting next fall. More on that soon. 🙂
