Quick post before I go crash from the meds I’m taking 🙂
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
This is my carnivorous pitcher plant. I’m hoping it takes care of our mosquito problem… wishful thinking, I know, but a girl can try, right?
We had a visit from some family up north before they move to the opposite coast. It was great that the kids were able to see each other, even if it was just for a little while! My nephew and M spent the morning chasing each other in and out of her room and pillow fighting. It was awesome to see them play.
Mama and M snuggle time before bed
M is enthralled with nature. Everything from flowers to bugs… and not just the girly bugs like ladybugs and grasshoppers… she likes to observe spiders and creepy crawlies that totally gives me the heebie jeebies
Awesome rainbow over our neighbor’s house after a storm
The ladies hanging out at the park
Charlestowne Landing — We didn’t do the historic tour so I can’t speak to that, but I have to say that I was very disappointed in how they kept their animals. I thought with 80 acres of land that they would be able to have more of a reserve type setting for their animals, but walked through a few exhibits that were not well-kept and were very small for the animal. The poor bear they had there was pacing back and forth and seemed to have a patch of hair missing on his side… Needless to say, we won’t be going back. I can’t see supporting a facility that treats animals that way.
We finally rented the scaffolding in order to replace these pendant lights….
With these:
We also replaced the chandelier in the dining room and the pendant lights in the kitchen:
M has learned how to use my iPhone camera and is taking some pretty artsy shots:
And little man is just cute.
So that’s that. I’m off to nurse my sore throat and head to bed. Good night blogosphere!
