Hello there my reader friend! I have about 20 minutes before littles start stirring from their naps, so I thought I’d post a quick update as to what we’ve been up to this past month, in case you were wondering… you know, because our summer activities are SO important 😉 Just kidding.
Check it out anyway.
Various trips to Kiawah led us there a day after a big storm. While swimming, we ran into a TON of sand dollars. When you let them dry, they’re bristly and rough. With a little sanding and some bleach, they turn out super pretty! Check out my next post to see what M decided to do with them.
M loves to dress up so she pulled out her Ao Dai just for kicks and decided that she wasn’t going to wear the pants (who needs pants anyway?) – Her little sister decided that it was a good look and followed suit. We made a bug costume and had several tea parties and picnics. The above picture was the picnic we had the morning when everyone else in our county was headed off to school. I don’t long for the days of waking up at 6 AM for school. Luckily, we don’t have to do that.
This week, I’m preparing to teach a Math lesson on waves to our S.T.E.A.M co-op (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) so I’ve been busy researching and preparing materials. We “officially” start back with school (and going back to eating healthy) the first week of September. I hate that we “give up” healthy eating during the summer, but I think it’s just too difficult to navigate friends, family, and the sweet treats of summer on paleo. At least right now. So we’re back on track next week. Wish us luck.
