In 2013, when we were still new to Charleston and the parents of 3 kids under the age of 3, my husband and I were lucky (and grateful) to be able to hire an amazing nanny/mother’s helper to assist me with the kids. If you read any of my archived posts, she features prominently in them. She was there when S took her first steps, when both G and S spoke their first words, and when the kids said goodbye to their diapers.
It’s been a few years since she’s worked for us in any capacity as she’s moved back to the North East, but every time she’s in town, she visits and when we’re in her neck of the woods, we spend time together. She will always be a part of our family no matter where she or we end up.
So this past week, when J contacted us to let us know that she was driving back from Florida and would be making a quick stop in Charleston, we were thrilled to be able to spend time together and meet her new beau.
After dinner at a local BBQ joint and a cup of ice cream, we headed down to the beach. It was a windy evening at low tide and the mini sand storm we experienced was dubbed “sand fog” by the kids. Take a peek.
