Pool Wildlife

We are wrapping up our final days in the house here before our tenants move in and were reminded today how much we’ll miss the pool and South Carolina’s wildlife. We had some visitors after a big rain storm this afternoon.

Beetles and other small insects floating on the surface of the pool are a regular occurrence, but our favorite part is checking the pool filter. We always find treasures in there. Sometimes they can be terrifying… like when we find wolf spiders with bodies the size of half dollars. This time, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a large frog (it was about the length of my hand), along with a toad and another small frog.

We also found some snails, and M saved a few from the bottom of the pool as well. This is a time-lapse video of them all together.
